I watched The Hunger Games, it's set in a dystopian future where the descendants of a rebellion from 12 different districts are chosen.
They will then participate in an arena one male and one female will represent each district and year to year only one victor stands at the end of the games. I found that the movie mixed Ancient Olympian games and they also had elements of the Nazi reign in Germany. High points of the movie The movie was very thought provoking, and was very well filmed, Katniss Everdeen stood in her much younger sister's place, which was a good nod to doing something noble and selfless. Low points of the movie The movie does show violence against children, perpetrated by other children, so that's something to think about before watching with your children. However violence was pretty moderate. In Closing with all things considered It was an interesting watch and I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars for family friendliness.

This week for Tasty Thursday, I decided to do a review on Aloe Vera Juice This was a really good drink and I purchased it at a local asian market. Here are the ingredients;
Water Aloe Vera Crush Sugar Aloe Vera Gel Powder Anhydrous Citric Acid Calcium Lactate Ascorbic Acid Honey Benefits It has plenty of Vitamin C,Calcium,and Iron Drawbacks None that I can think of, unless you have an allergy to any of the ingredients. I went to Baton Rouge, near the end of last year to help my cousin with an arts and crafts show. Denicola's had there booth near us and I picked up some fifteen minute meal packets from them. Now without further ado lets get to the food. Dirty Rice The first Denicola's dish I cooked was their Dirty Rice, it was pretty good, and if your a meat eater I'd recommend adding ground beef. Jambalaya The second Denicola's dish I cooked was their Jambalaya, it was pretty good, and if your a meat eater I'd recommend adding some sausages cut in to bite size portions. Pastalayla The third Denicola's dish I cooked was their Pastalaya, it was pretty good, and if your a meat eater I'd recommend adding some chicken cut in to bite size portions, or if your a vegetable eater, making this a base to a chedder and broccoli dish would be a good idea. In closing I want to say I really enjoying cooking these, and if I can get 1000 likes I'll do some more Denicola's products. I started working for a company again last week, it was my first weekend working with Benoit, and it went pretty good, looking forward to seeing how it will go this week. The Crew there has a lot of pretty cool people, and I think working there will continue to be interesting. The only thing I'm concerned about is getting better with my forklift skills, and getting better at meeting pipe demands, once I get those two under my belt, I can see working there for a long time. Me and some of my family went to Rotolos so here's my review of this very nice Sporty Pizzeria, and hope to add more of their foods to this post in the future. Food 4/5
The food was good, and their Hummus was very nicely put together. Price 3/5 Price is about average. Time 3/5 This isn't fast food, delivery of food is pretty typical. Decor 4/5 Very nice, sports themed atmosphere. Service 5/5 Service was great. In closing if you have ever wanted to try something from there, and never got around to it let me know in the comments, and it could be added to my list. First week of 2014
Has been pretty good, waiting to hear from some job sites but Hopefully should hear back from them soon. The following are some goals and challenges that I have started this year. 2014 Challenges Get Healthier A pretty classic New Years resolution is to get in better shape than what you were in last year. I'll be seeing about slowing down the eating and drinking more water, and less chemical concoctions. Get a Job Last time this year I paid off the remainder of my student loans, which was an awesome feeling. The Job site I worked at however was leaving in the same month to Florida, so I had to start trying to find another Job. By God's grace and being able to work with relatives I was able to pay my bills last year, and through that same grace I trust and have faith I can be blessed with a steady job, and a successful career. Get a Turkey(The Bowling Term) I want to challenge myself with getting Three strikes in a row. I want to be able to motivate my sister and the bowling league she's on, "If I can get a turkey they can too". Learn Dances I hope to also be able to learn some dances, I had went to a winter formal at the end of last year, and I think I'll be able to pick up a few different dances this year. Learn How To Play Guitar I've been having two guitars since 2013 and I have yet to learn to really play them in confidence, so hopefully my job will be able to finance some lessons and give me time to take them. Learn Adobe Illustrator This year, I hope to put at least one new software program on my repeaters. I hope to get more into my art this year, let's see how this goes. Spend some time out of state I would like to spend some time out of state not sure where, but probably either Arkansas or Florida Continue to Pursue my Career in Online Marketing I've challenged myself with four different social media challenges Facebook Challenge Like 20,000 Facebook pages And Get at least Half that Amount of likes for my own page. Twitter Challenge Follow 20,000 Twitter users And Get at least Half that Amount of Followers. Instagram Challenge Follow 20,000 Instagram users And Get at least Half of that Amount of Followers. YouTube Challenge Subscribe to 20,000 YouTube users And Get at least Half that Amount of Subscribers Me and some of my family went to Olive Garden for my Birthday, so I decided that I would do a review, and hope to add more of their foods to this post in the future. Food 4/5
The food has always been really good, and I haven't had any complaints with anything I've ordered. Price 5/5 my meal was not even 5 dollars after tax, I find their prices reasonable with all the food you get. Time 3/5 This isn't fast food, delivery of food is pretty typical. Decor 4/5 Place is very nice, and well decorated. Service 5/5 Service was great, and Waitresses went the extra mile for us. In closing if you have ever wanted to try something from there, and never got around to it let me know in the comments, and it could be added to my list. Me and my Dad went to Applebee's this week, and it was pretty good. Food 3.7/5 My Burger was really filling, side of fries was smaller then a usual
side but I had enough to eat with just the main entree and me and my Dad both left pretty satisfied. Time 3/5 Delivery of food came in an average amount of time. Decor 3/5 Place is pretty cozy Service 4.5/5 Service was pretty good, and servers opened the door for us coming and going. In closing if you have ever wanted to try something from there, and never got around to it let me know in the comments, and it could be added to my list. Me and my youngest sister went to Cristiano's for the first time this week, and it was really good. The Waitress serving us was named Kasie and she fixed our drinks and brought us some bread to start us off. The Waitress asked if this was our first time dining with them, and when we said it was, she let the chef know and he presented us a gift in the form of a dish brought out by Kasie, which was the best oyster dish I have ever eaten. For my meal, I chose the Rapini and I mistakenly thought it was under the pasta section so I was expecting a pasta dish made with Rapini so I was kinda surprised by just a salad, which consisted of Hearty greens sautéed with bacon & red onions they had a pretty decent vinaigrette dressing on top as well. My sister decided to try out their Lasanga which was also pretty good, my sister also had the foresight to order some grilled chicken which went very well with both of our meals.
Food 4.3/5 The food was pretty good, and We both left pretty satisfied. Time 3.5/5 Delivery of food came in a very timely fashion. Decor 4.5/5 Place is very nice being a renovated home, definitely has a homey and classy atmosphere, they also provide an outdoor area to dine and that is always a pretty good option to have. Service 5/5 Service was absolutely superb, our waitress Kasie did an excellent job, and definitely went above in her job as a waitress. Clientele of the restaurant was pretty good as well, a man actually apologized to me and my sister for his phone going off. In closing if you have ever wanted to try something from there, and never got around to it let me know in the comments, and it could be added to my list. I watched "A Mile in His Shoes" after my cousin let me know that it was available on Netflix. It was on my watching list of movies that I would like to see, so I decided I would go ahead and check it out. My Synopsis: The movie is essentially about a young man with Asberger syndrome, who has a remarkable pitching arm. He is recruited by an out of state baseball team's coach who recognizes his amazing abilities. My Opinion on the movie: High points of the movie They really did do a great job with this movie! Having Autism myself the actor that played Mickey and the movie itself did a great job at showing different aspects about Asberger Syndrome. The sensory overload that Mickey experienced during his first time at the ball park,new people and unfamiliar surroundings was especially good, and I could definitely relate. The movie also had a very good ending, and also showed good sportsmanship, and also showed poor sportsmanship in the form of Mickey's antagonist, and his cohorts. Low points of the movie Language In a heated argument between coaches there is a word substitution instead of the actual word that a coach may typically use, other than that no poor language, and filled with uplifting positive talk. Violence One of the main characters is somewhat hurt, and even though the scene doesn't show much violence, the aftermath in the form of Bruising and a few scrapes does make some screen time, other than that not much on violence. My final rating for this movie would be a 5/5 This would be a good watch with most family, even if they aren't particular interested in sports. |
