I watched "A Mile in His Shoes" after my cousin let me know that it was available on Netflix. It was on my watching list of movies that I would like to see, so I decided I would go ahead and check it out. My Synopsis: The movie is essentially about a young man with Asberger syndrome, who has a remarkable pitching arm. He is recruited by an out of state baseball team's coach who recognizes his amazing abilities. My Opinion on the movie: High points of the movie They really did do a great job with this movie! Having Autism myself the actor that played Mickey and the movie itself did a great job at showing different aspects about Asberger Syndrome. The sensory overload that Mickey experienced during his first time at the ball park, new people and unfamiliar surroundings was especially good, and I could definitely relate. The movie also had a very good ending, and also showed good sportsmanship, and also showed poor sportsmanship in the form of Mickey's antagonist, and his cohorts. Low points of the movie Language In a heated argument between coaches there is a word substitution instead of the actual word that a coach may typically use, other than that no poor language, and filled with uplifting positive talk. Violence One of the main characters is somewhat hurt, and even though the scene doesn't show much violence, the aftermath in the form of Bruising and a few scrapes does make some screen time, other than that not much on violence. My final rating for this movie would be a 5/5 This would be a good watch with most family, even if they aren't particular interested in sports.

Me and My Family went to Lacasa Del Sol(House of the Sun) yesterday, and it was really good. Food 5/5
Food was fresh, and I left very satisfied. Time 3/5 Timeliness of service was about average for a restaurant, and even though I had to wait awhile for my food, waitress was very prompt in making sure we had our appetizers and drinks. Restroom+Decor 4/5 Restroom was very well kept, and decor is very nice, however lighting although sets a good mood not quite the best for picture taking. Service 5/5 Definitely was pleased with the service, and waitress that I have had there have all been pretty professional. I watched Thor: The Dark World Which is a sequel to Marvel's Super Hero movie Thor, and It was pretty nice I'd give it 3.7 stars. High points of the Movie The movie had great visual work done. The movie did a fairly good job at showing the aftermath of the New York Incident, and presenting a new threat. Low points of the Movie Language was really minimal, having heard only two exclamations of the S word, one of which was cut off. They had a lot of violence but it is an action movie, some scenes will frighten children that are not used to PG-13 action movies. Professor Eric, had a few clothing issues in the movie. In closing I want to say I really enjoyed the movie, and can't wait for Captain America: Winter Soldier! BEWARE SPOILERS BELOW. MARVELNESS You Might have Missed Marvel Comics usually have a bonus teaser clip which usually hints at a future movie after the credits, so if you walked out Shame on you lol Because you missed a sneak peak of Characters hinting about future infinity stones. Stan Lee makes an appearance in Marvel Comic movies, and he appeared in an insane asylum. PARENTAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTED Although I try to keep my reviews for a general audience It would be very difficult to do so with this movie. I watched Forrest Gump after seeing that it was available on Netflix. It was on my watching list of movies which had very good visual effects work, so I decided I would go ahead and check it out. My Synopsis: The movie is essentially about a man with Asberger Syndrome who spends his life trying to get out of the friend zone with his friend Jenny, and overcoming many obstacles and gaining different achievements along the way. Due to a spinal abnormality a family doctor, provides him with leg braces to help him walk, the leg braces are kept on longer than what they should have been and it causes the muscles in his legs to allow him to run at abnormally fast speeds, and long distances. My Opinion on the movie: High points of the movie The movie had a very interesting plot and had a lot of historical references which were very fun to watch, visual effects work was kinda of hokey at times but considering this was made in the nineties it was very elaborate for the time. The movie did a fairly good job at showing Forrest Gump's progression through his life, and it was very inspiring to those who are struggling with different Cognitives differences. Low points of the movie This movie although inspiring as it is, definitely is not intended for a young audience which really is quite a shame, because if they would have left out the Sex,Drugs, and Foul Language it would have made for a really good family movie. First example, of what really hurt this from being a family friendly movie Forrest Gump's IQ was 5 points to low to be enrolled in regular High school so his mother makes arrangements with the principal of the school to look passed his score in exchange for one night with her, a young Forrest in shown outside the house while "noise" is heard inside their home. They also have other various scenes where both men and women are scantily clad, they also make references to Child molestation, very vague reference to Aids/HIV, and other topics you might not be ready to explain to your little ones. This movie barely makes the PG-13 rating and is more closer to an R rating then most other PG-13 movies. My final rating for this movie would be a 1.5/5 I hate giving it such a low score because it had a lot of potential. |
